Digital Twins are one the most important user experiences within the Insight Platform.  From within our Digital Twins, customers can view the current state and entire history of a sensor within their lab.  They can quickly see which assets and rooms are currently booked and schedule time without leaving the 3D model of the laboratory.

Sensor Technology

Elemental Machines devices are based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology.  BLE devices typically have shorter communication distances compared to traditional Bluetooth devices. This limitation may hinder the connectivity and effectiveness of IoT networks, particularly in large or complex environments.  Additionally, security vulnerabilities have been identified in some BLE implementations, exposing devices to potential threats such as unauthorized access, data breaches, or even remote attacks.

Service Insight's Devices are based upon the Industrial IoT standard, LoRaWAN.

LoRaWAN surpasses BLE with its extended range, making it suitable for long-distance applications, low power consumption for prolonged device lifespan, and robust scalability, ideal for managing large-scale deployments efficiently.  LoRaWAN also stands out in prioritizing security measures, ensuring a reliable and secure environment for diverse applications, a crucial aspect for safeguarding sensitive data and preventing unauthorized access

Sensor Library

Elemental machines sensor library is limited to just 6 devices.  Their Element U is not capable of monitoring asset power consumption & cost.  Their lab environment monitor lacks the ability to track CO2, light, motion, TVOC and particulate.  Their platform also lacks the ability to directly measure C02 concentration in cell incubators.
